Oswestry Macular Society Group

Reviewed January 2024

The Macular Society, now has over 400 local support groups, which exist to provide advice and support to people affected by macular conditions, their relatives and friends across the British Isles.  The local groups offer practical and emotional support throughout central vision loss.  They help people to understand the condition, come to terms with sight loss, share information about treatment and ultimately stay independent.

The Oswestry Macular Society Group was set up in April 2016.  Meetings are open to anyone affected by Macular Degeneration or central vision loss.  Family and friends are welcome to attend.

The group meets from 2pm to 4pm on the third Friday of every month at The Tankard, 5-8 English Walls, Oswestry, SY11 2PA.

Tables are reserved for those wishing to lunch as a group from 12.30pm.

In addition to guest speakers, the group runs social events, outings and trips, as well as fundraising and campaigning to raise awareness of macular disease.
