Updated November 2018
Each year at the end of January, Sight Loss Shropshire holds a ‘Winter’s Day Out’ to which all visually impaired people in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin are welcome. The event is normally held at the Shrewsbury Town Football Club.
Around 220 people attend the event each year, which runs from 11am to 3:30pm. Coffee is served on arrival followed by a morning entertainment, often something musical, and then a buffet lunch is served. The afternoon starts with a second entertainment, which might be a local celebrity with an interesting topic or tales to tell! Tickets for the event are numbered and the day ends with a raffle and tea.
Tickets are now available for the 2019 event, which will be held on 25th January 2019 at Shrewsbury Town Football Club. In the morning, Side by Side Ukeleles will be entertaining us with a selection of music. In the afternoon, Penny Wheat will be delivering her talk entitled “Miss Ellen Nee”, full of bizarre facts and funny stories. To obtain tickets, please contact the Sight Loss Shropshire office on 01743 250808 or email sightlossshropshire@Shropshire.gov.uk
