Winter’s Day Out
Updated January 2022
Due to the high rates of Covid infections, the Sight Loss Shropshire committee has reluctantly decided to postpone the Winter’s Day Out event scheduled for 8th April 2022.
Instead, we will be holding a 100th Birthday Party on Friday 20th May 2022. More information coming soon.
- The Sovereign Suite laid out ready to receive our Winter’s Day Out guests.
Each year at the end of January, Sight Loss Shropshire holds a ‘Winter’s Day Out’ to which all visually impaired people in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin are welcome. Places are free but tickets need to be booked in advance. The event is normally held at the Shrewsbury Town Football Club.
Around 220 people attend this social event each year, which runs from 11am to 3:30pm. Coffee is served on arrival followed by a morning entertainment, often something musical, and then a buffet lunch is served. The afternoon starts with a second entertainment, which might be a local celebrity with an interesting topic or tales to tell! Tickets for the event are numbered and the day ends with a raffle and tea.
