Emotional Support

Reviewed September 2023

It can be difficult to come to terms with sight loss. Many people struggle to cope with their emotions and often feel shocked, upset or isolated.  You may find it helpful to talk to a trained counsellor about your feelings.

Sight Loss Shropshire has put together a factsheet on sources of emotional support.  Please call our office on 07778 956096 or email us at admin@sightlossshropshire.org.uk if you would like a copy, or you can download it here (MS Word format).

The RNIB has a useful section on its website about coming to terms with sight loss.

The Macular Society produces a booklet on the Emotional Impact of Sight Loss.  You can request a copy from the Advice and Information Service on 0300 3030 111.
